Mentorship Programme

This 6-month program is designed to provide clinicians who already utilise MSK ultrasound within their practice, with advanced diagnostic MSK ultrasound competency, and introduce the advanced sonoanatomy, technique and medical reasoning to perform more specialised ultrasound guided injections and procedures which are not routinely taught on MSK ultrasound post graduate programs (PgCert and PgDip) and specialist medical training.

• GPs with specialist interest in MSK Medicine. 
• Trainee Radiologists 
• Advanced Practice Physiotherapists 
• Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultants.
• Orthopaedic Surgeons
• MSK sonographers.

This program is also designed to elevate the procedural skills and clinical reasoning of MSK specialists and competent clinicians/sonographers over a 6-month period. Throughout the ongoing seminars and case discussions, students will be encouraged to apply taught + self directed learning material into complex musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic scenarios.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Perform advanced ultrasound scanning of complex musculoskeletal structures in the upper and lower limbs.
• Identify normal and pathological sonographic appearances of tendons, ligaments, nerves, muscles, and joints.
• Understand the principles of ultrasound-guided interventions, including needle guidance techniques.
• Develop a systematic approach to the sonographic evaluation of common and complex musculoskeletal conditions.
• Incorporate real-time dynamic ultrasound techniques into their clinical assessments.
• Enhance their ability to correlate clinical findings with ultrasound images for accurate diagnosis.

The procedural learning days will be held at King’s College London, with the exact location still being finalised. The venue is conveniently located with easy access to public transport and accommodation.
